Food Procurement & Organization

With the help of your tax deductible donation, Midwest Food Bank will expand through opening a 9th U.S. location (MFB-PA) which will immediately serve NY, NJ, and PA.

MFB distributed nearly $280 million worth of food in 2019 to over 2,000 non-profits each month.

Given the severity and expected duration of this crises and planning for delivery and distribution, MFB will begin to transport up to $35 million dollars of food annually procured by their network of large scale food producers across the U.S.  With this sizable effort, packaged food arriving to the new MFB-PA will need to be stored in a warehouse, repackaged and then subsequently shipped to food distribution centers located in PA, NJ, and NY.  In summary, with a fundraise of $5.25 million a new feeding program will be established that ultimately brings the food to residents in need in these states.
